Hello Shasta community!

It’s already the second week of October, and we have a fantastic few weeks planned!
We’re kicking the fun off this week with our Bingo Night! We hope to see many of our students and their families later this week for a chance to play games, win prizes, and connect with the Shasta community.
Also starting this week, we're excited to cheer on our athletes as the volleyball season officially begins! Be sure to check the school calendar for the game schedules.
Looking ahead to the following week, get ready for some fun—it’s Spirit Week, culminating in our first all-school assembly of the year! Details on the themed days are below.
Please refer to the rest of the newsletter for more specific information, game times, and other updates.
As always, we deeply appreciate your partnership and support in making Shasta a great place to learn. Don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions!

We have a full five days of school this week, with our early-release on Wednesday.

  • Volleyball games begin this week! We have games at Shasta on Wednesday at 4pm and 5pm. Come out and support the team!
  • Our fall Spirit Week is coming next week, October 20-23. Our spirit days will be: 'Anything But A Backpack Day', 'Pajama/Cozy Day', 'Student/Teacher Swap Day', and 'Grade-Level Color Wars'.
  • Lifetouch will be on campus Thursday, October 23 for picture retakes. If students missed pictures earlier this year, this will be their chance to have them taken, along with those who want retakes of their earlier photo.
  • Bethel has a No School day for students on Friday, Oct. 24th.

Join us for Bingo Night!

We are so excited to see everyone at Shasta's Family Bingo Night this Thursday, October 16th. The event is free for families and runs from 6:00-7:30pm in the cafeteria. Kona Ice and Red Five Hotdog Co will be onsite and available for purchase. We have lots of great prizes to give away!
Our PTO will be present and accepting donations by cash or check to put towards future events and activities for the school.
We can't wait to see you there!

Student Voice

This week, Shasta students will take the Bethel Student Experience Survey. This is an important opportunity for us to hear directly from our students regarding their experiences at school. The survey is completely anonymous and students will be walked through why they are taking it and what we do with the information. In addition to district leadership, our own teams here at Shasta will review results to see what it tells us about our school and what action steps we need to take as a community.

Bethel Mentor Program

The Bethel Mentor Program pairs community volunteers with school-age students for mentorship opportunities. The program exists at both the middle and high school level, and continues to grow over the year. Due to this growth, the Bethel Mentor Program is looking for a parent or community volunteer to serve as a Site Coordinator. This position is a dynamic way to serve our school community. If you are interested, please see the attached Site Coordinator Job Description for more details and contact information.
